Public Pools

All pools that are defined as being public must comply with the Public Health Code of the State of Connecticut . This includes, but is not limited to town-owned pools and condominium pools. Applications for relicensure of the pools is sent out in April of each year. Inspections are conducted to ensure that structural integrity, required safety measures and water chemistry are in compliance. Seasonal pools must pass a satisfactory inspection prior to receiving their license to operate. As of December 19, 2009, all operators of public pools were required to comply with the Virginia Graeme Baker Pool and Spa Safety Act.
