Surveillance and
Control
TMHD works closely with the Connecticut Department of Public Health and other health agencies to prevent and control the spread of disease. Tracking and responding to communicable disease outbreaks and epidemics is an important role of the Community Health Department. The public health nurse and other trained staff monitor and investigate all suspect cases of a communicable disease and provide control measures to reduce the spread of disease.
